Ultima Worlds of Adventure 2: Martian Dreams

Ultima Worlds of Adventure 2: Martian Dreams sends the Ultima universe somewhere considerably more unusual than medieval Britannia: Mars. Set in an alternate historical adventure, the game combines science fiction with exploration, role-playing, puzzles, and plenty of familiar Ultima mechanics. Players travel across a mysterious Martian landscape, interact with characters, solve problems, gather equipment, and uncover the story behind the strange situation surrounding the expedition. The game retains the open-ended spirit of the Ultima series while replacing castles and dragons with canals, ruins, and the red planet. Martian Dreams is a wonderfully eccentric example of Origin's willingness to experiment with its RPG universe, proving that apparently the only thing missing from Ultima was a spaceship ticket to Mars.
