The Telwynium

The Telwynium is a 2021 point-and-click adventure from Powerhoof, presented as a retro-inspired fantasy story with colorful pixel art and a strong emphasis on exploration and characters. The game follows a classic adventure-game structure, with players examining their surroundings, collecting useful objects, solving puzzles and talking to the inhabitants of its world. Its visual style deliberately recalls the golden age of pixel-based adventures, while the writing and presentation give the experience its own personality. The Telwynium is particularly appealing to players who miss the days when progressing through a game could depend on combining two apparently useless objects and hoping for the best. Released in 2021, it shows that the point-and-click adventure still has plenty of life left in it, even without requiring a suspiciously large inventory of rubber chickens.
