Alluvium

Alluvium is an independent game released in 2018 by Powerhoof, the developers behind several distinctive small-scale adventure projects. It demonstrates the studio's interest in unusual settings, atmospheric presentation and compact experiences rather than sprawling commercial productions. The game has the handcrafted feel typical of indie development, where a relatively small team can concentrate on a specific artistic idea and build the gameplay around it. Alluvium is therefore best approached as a focused independent experience rather than a huge open-world adventure packed with hundreds of side quests. Released in 2018, it belongs to the kind of catalog that rewards curious players who enjoy finding games that sit just outside the mainstream. Sometimes the most interesting discoveries are not the ones with the biggest marketing campaigns, but the ones quietly doing their own strange little thing.
