Star Wraith II

Star Wraith II is a space combat simulator focused on fast-paced battles between starfighters in a futuristic war. Players pilot a fighter through missions involving enemy ships, navigation and weapons management, with the emphasis firmly on direct combat rather than economic management or planetary exploration. The 3D presentation gives battles a stronger sense of movement than many earlier space shooters, while the mission structure provides a reason to keep improving your flying skills. Success depends on maneuvering, targeting and choosing the right moment to attack rather than simply pointing forward and firing continuously. Star Wraith II is a straightforward example of independent space combat gaming, offering plenty of dogfights without requiring the player to first obtain a doctorate in fictional starship engineering.
