Hedgewars

Hedgewars takes the basic formula of turn-based artillery warfare and replaces the soldiers with pink hedgehogs who are considerably more heavily armed than nature intended. Inspired by the classic Worms-style approach, it lets players take turns launching ridiculous weapons across destructible landscapes while attempting to reduce the opposing team to a collection of unfortunate spikes. The physics provide plenty of opportunities for both brilliant tactical shots and spectacular self-inflicted disasters. Multiplayer is where the chaos really shines, especially when carefully planned strategies collapse because somebody misjudged the wind by approximately one pixel. Free, open source and packed with personality, Hedgewars is a charming reminder that competitive warfare is better with hedgehogs.
