Castle Adventure

Released in 2008 by Viridian Games, Castle Adventure proves that you don’t need cutting-edge graphics to terrify players into clutching their keyboards. You’re tossed into a sprawling, haunted castle armed with little more than bravery and, hopefully, a decent imagination. The visuals are minimalist, but that only makes the lurking monsters feel like dark shapes out of the corner of your eye. The challenge lies in exploration and quick decision-making—you’ll open doors you immediately regret, stumble into rooms filled with danger, and occasionally scream at your own poor judgment. It’s retro horror distilled into pure atmosphere.
