Best free "Commodore 64 remake" games

Released in 1982, the Commodore 64 became one of the most successful home computers ever made, combining an affordable price with impressive graphics and sound for its time. Its VIC-II graphics chip and legendary SID sound chip helped give C64 games a distinctive look and unmistakable audio, while the machine's 64 KB of RAM made the name quite literal. Thousands of games appeared for the platform, covering everything from arcade-style action and platformers to adventures, strategy games, and RPGs. The C64 was also much more than a gaming machine, with software for programming, music, and everyday tasks. Its huge and enthusiastic community produced an incredible amount of software and continues to keep the platform alive in retro-computing circles. Not bad for a computer that fits more than three decades of history into one keyboard.
