The Lord of the Rings Online

The Lord of the Rings Online is a free-to-play MMORPG set in J.R.R. Tolkien's Middle-earth, allowing players to explore familiar locations, encounter recognizable characters and participate in stories inspired by the books. Players create their own characters, choose different classes and professions, complete quests, fight enemies and develop their abilities while traveling through a large persistent world. The game includes group dungeons, crafting, exploration and numerous activities beyond the main storyline, giving players plenty of reasons to wander far from the road. The Lord of the Rings Online is particularly appealing to fans who want to experience Middle-earth rather than simply watch its story unfold. Just remember that taking a casual stroll across Tolkien's countryside has a remarkable tendency to turn into a six-hour adventure involving orcs, errands and at least one extremely important ring.
