Sil

Sil is a roguelike dungeon-crawling game based on Tolkien-inspired fantasy and focused heavily on exploration, tactical combat and character development. You create a character and descend into a dangerous underground world filled with enemies, treasures and increasingly serious threats. The game places considerable importance on careful positioning and resource management, while its skill-based progression allows characters to develop in different ways. As with traditional roguelikes, death can be permanent, making every expedition a mixture of curiosity and mild paranoia. The minimalist presentation leaves plenty of room for the underlying systems to shine, rewarding players who enjoy learning how a complex game works over time. Sil is particularly suited to experienced roguelike players who appreciate deep mechanics and do not consider permanent death an unreasonable design decision.
