Mutant Factions

Mutant Factions is a freeware action game from Nik Nak Studios that combines shooting, exploration and a decidedly post-apocalyptic atmosphere. The setting suggests a world where civilization has gone spectacularly wrong, leaving hostile factions and mutated creatures to argue over whatever remains. Players move through dangerous environments, fight enemies and gather the equipment needed to survive increasingly difficult encounters. The game has the straightforward appeal of an independent action title, focusing on gameplay rather than cinematic storytelling or enormous production values. Its homemade character is part of the charm, especially for players who enjoy discovering obscure freeware projects that never received much attention. If you like your action games scrappy, strange and slightly radioactive, Mutant Factions is worth investigating.
