Caves of Thor

Apogee Software’s Caves of Thor (1989) is less about epic myth and more about dodging boulders in blocky caverns. You guide a tiny adventurer through levels that are equal parts puzzle and death trap, where the wrong move means instant doom. The graphics are as primitive as they come, but the challenge is timeless: plan carefully, react quickly, and don’t get crushed by falling rocks. It’s unforgiving, occasionally unfair, but oddly compelling—like a prehistoric cousin to modern roguelikes. Thor himself doesn’t show up, but the difficulty will make you mutter a few thunderous curses of your own.
