The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is an interactive fiction adventure based on Douglas Adams's famous science-fiction comedy, placing players inside a wonderfully absurd universe filled with bizarre characters, strange locations and deliberately mischievous puzzles. Progress depends on reading descriptions, entering commands, examining objects and solving situations that frequently require lateral thinking. The game faithfully captures the author's humor, including the occasional puzzle that appears to have been designed specifically to make you question your own intelligence. The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a landmark of interactive fiction and one of Infocom's most memorable licensed adventures. It rewards curiosity, experimentation and a willingness to type commands that sound increasingly ridiculous. Just remember the traditional advice: bring a towel, and perhaps also a save file from several minutes earlier.
