Starsiege: Tribes

Starsiege: Tribes is a team-based first-person shooter built around large outdoor battlefields, vehicles, jetpacks and objective-driven multiplayer combat. Instead of concentrating exclusively on eliminating opponents, matches can revolve around capturing flags, defending bases and coordinating attacks with teammates. The jetpack adds a distinctive vertical element, allowing players to move across terrain and approach objectives from unexpected directions. Different armor types and equipment choices also let players specialize in different battlefield roles. The game's large maps encourage teamwork and tactical planning, making communication considerably more useful than simply running toward the nearest enemy. Starsiege: Tribes helped establish an important multiplayer FPS formula where movement, teamwork and objectives mattered as much as shooting accuracy.
