Star Wars: The Old Republic is a story-driven MMORPG set thousands of years before the events of the main Star Wars films. Players create their own characters and choose from different classes connected to the Jedi, Sith and other factions, then explore planets, complete quests and participate in both personal stories and larger conflicts. One of the game's major strengths is its emphasis on voiced dialogue and class-specific narratives, giving each character a more personal journey through the galaxy. Combat, companions, crafting and multiplayer activities round out the experience. The Old Republic offers a particularly interesting take on Star Wars because players are not simply following the adventures of established heroes; they are creating their own.
