Heaven & Hearth is a persistent online fantasy world where survival, crafting, exploration and settlement building matter at least as much as fighting monsters. Players gather resources, learn skills, construct homes and gradually transform a patch of wilderness into something resembling civilization. The world is persistent, which means other players are doing exactly the same thing, occasionally with consequences for your carefully planned little corner of it. Its open-ended nature makes progression feel more like living in a strange virtual frontier than following a conventional quest line. There is plenty of room for cooperation, experimentation and, presumably, the occasional moment when you discover that your beautiful new house is considerably less defensible than you thought.
