OpenRCT2 is a fan-made open-source recreation and expansion of the classic theme-park management formula, allowing you to build roller coasters, manage attractions and attempt to keep visitors happy without bankrupting the entire operation. It retains the familiar mechanics of the original RollerCoaster Tycoon while adding modern features, multiplayer support and numerous quality-of-life improvements. Players design parks, set prices, manage staff and construct increasingly ridiculous rides, all while watching carefully to ensure that guests are not vomiting on the path directly outside your most expensive attraction. The game offers enormous freedom in park design, from sensible family amusement parks to spectacular engineering experiments that probably should not have passed a safety inspection. For simulation fans, it remains an exceptionally deep playground.
