Mandagon
Mandagon is a short atmospheric exploration game inspired by Tibetan and Buddhist architecture, presented as a beautiful pixel-art journey through a mysterious world. There is little emphasis on traditional combat or conventional objectives; instead, players explore, interact with the environment and gradually uncover the ideas behind the setting. The striking visual design does much of the storytelling, using color, architecture and movement to create a distinctive mood. Its relatively brief length makes it easy to complete in one sitting, but the atmosphere gives the experience a sense of weight beyond its modest scope. Mandagon is a good reminder that an indie game does not need hundreds of quests to be memorable. Sometimes a strange world and a few thoughtful ideas are enough.
“Explore Mandagon, a world inspired by Tibetan theology and philosophy. With a focus on life and death, discover what it means to make a true sacrifice. Traverse a vivid interpretation of Bardo, the Tibetan word for limbo. Learn what experiences brought you there and what forces pull you through.” - Blind Sky Studios
