Infested

Infested is a retro-styled action game that throws the player into an environment where hostile creatures are clearly having a much better day than you are. Exploration and combat are central, with enemies, hazards and confined spaces creating plenty of pressure as you move through the game. Its presentation draws on older PC action games, giving it a deliberately rough-edged atmosphere that suits the subject matter nicely. Rather than relying on elaborate modern effects, it concentrates on movement, shooting and surviving the next encounter. The result is an appealing little throwback for players who enjoy discovering independent games with a distinctly old-school identity. The title may be simple, but the local wildlife is apparently committed to making your visit memorable.
