Best free "ZX Spectrum remake" games

Released by Sinclair Research in 1982, the ZX Spectrum was one of the computers that helped kick-start Britain's home-computing and gaming boom. Compact and affordable, it used a Zilog Z80 processor and came in versions offering up to 48 KB of RAM, while its famously rubbery keyboard became almost as recognizable as the machine itself. The Spectrum's limited color palette and sometimes wonderfully peculiar graphics forced developers to be creative, resulting in thousands of games ranging from platformers and arcade titles to adventures and text-based experiments. Loading games from cassette tape was an experience of its own, accompanied by the unmistakable electronic screech that could make a five-minute wait feel like a technological ritual. Despite its modest hardware, the Spectrum inspired a generation of bedroom programmers and remains an important part of British gaming history.
