Time Slaughter
Time Slaughter is a 1996 fighting game that does not exactly believe in moderation. Developed by Bloodlust Software, it belongs to the wonderfully strange world of independent PC fighting games, where questionable costumes, excessive violence, and ambitious ideas often went hand in hand. Players choose from a selection of combatants and settle their differences through one-on-one battles, complete with the sort of bloody presentation that gives the title its name. It is rough around the edges compared with the big arcade fighters of the period, but that is part of its charm. Time Slaughter feels like a time capsule from an era when small developers could make an unapologetically bizarre fighting game and simply hope someone would be brave enough to try it.
