Mushroom Kingdom Fusion is a huge fan-made platform game that gleefully mixes characters, enemies, worlds and ideas from numerous classic Nintendo-style platformers. Rather than sticking to a single universe, it throws everything into one enormous crossover playground, creating levels where familiar faces can appear in combinations that would make a corporate lawyer reach for the phone. The gameplay follows traditional side-scrolling platform principles, with jumping, enemies, power-ups and plenty of hazards, but the sheer amount of content is what makes the project stand out. It feels like someone asked what would happen if every platforming idea they loved were put into one game and then refused to stop adding things.
