EverQuest
EverQuest is one of the landmark MMORPGs of PC gaming, originally released in 1999 by Sony Online Entertainment and instrumental in popularizing persistent online fantasy worlds. Players create characters, choose classes and races, explore a huge world, complete quests, fight monsters, collect equipment, and cooperate with other adventurers. Its early design was famously demanding, requiring patience, teamwork, and a willingness to spend considerable time traveling through a world where danger could be hiding almost anywhere. Before modern MMOs made convenience a priority, EverQuest was perfectly happy to let you get lost for an evening. Sometimes literally. Its influence on online role-playing games remains enormous.
“Welcome to EverQuest - the online game that started it all! No other MMO matches EverQuest's content that includes 21 expansions, plus the original base game. Now, in its unprecedented eighteenth year of development, EverQuest continues to add immersive gameplay, captivating storytelling and exciting worlds full of mystery and adventure.” - Sony Online Entertainment
