Lost Pig

Lost Pig is a short, wonderfully silly interactive fiction game in which you play an orc trying to recover a pig that has escaped. That sounds simple until you remember that the entire adventure is built around text, puzzles and the sort of logic that becomes increasingly questionable once an orc gets involved. The writing is humorous, the situations are deliberately absurd and the game rewards experimentation with commands and objects. Its compact scope makes it easy to finish, but there is enough personality in the prose to make the journey memorable. Lost Pig is a great example of how interactive fiction can turn an extremely simple objective into a surprisingly entertaining adventure, provided nobody expects the protagonist to behave sensibly.
