Gwent: The Witcher Card Game takes the fictional card game from The Witcher universe and turns it into a full competitive strategy game of its own. Instead of simply being a distraction in a tavern, Gwent becomes a battle of careful deck construction, resource management and tactical bluffing. Matches revolve around choosing when to commit cards and when to conserve strength for later rounds, making apparently weak moves potentially much more important than they first appear. The game features factions with different mechanics and play styles, encouraging experimentation with different decks. Its roots in The Witcher give it plenty of personality, but it works perfectly well as a standalone card game. It is proof that Geralt was right to spend so much time playing cards instead of saving everyone immediately.
