Dig-N-Rig is a 2011 mining and construction game from Derek Opitz that puts players in charge of a surprisingly complicated little underground operation. The basic idea is wonderfully straightforward: dig into the earth, collect valuable resources, expand your operation, and build infrastructure to keep everything moving. What begins as a simple mining exercise gradually becomes a logistical puzzle involving machinery, resources, and increasingly ambitious excavation. Its hand-crafted visual style gives it plenty of personality, while the gameplay rewards careful planning rather than blind digging. It is basically an industrial simulation disguised as a charming little game, proving once again that digging holes can become surprisingly addictive.
