Best free Windows "superheroes" games

GAME SETTING – Capes over rooftops, masked vigilantes beating up supervillains, mad scientists plotting world domination, and ordinary people suddenly discovering they can fly—the superhero genre has been keeping video games busy for decades. Free games are no exception. Indie and freeware developers have created everything from serious comic book-inspired adventures to ridiculous parodies where saving the world is clearly not going according to plan. Expect secret identities, superpowers, evil organizations, unlikely heroes, and plenty of dramatic battles between people who really should know better. Some games focus on classic superhero action, while others experiment with strategy, role-playing, beat ’em ups, or interactive storytelling. Whether you want to patrol a city, assemble a team, fight a ridiculous villain, or simply enjoy a good old-fashioned power fantasy, these games let you put on the cape without first waiting for a radioactive spider to bite you.
